Help Me To Be Content Lord…

Friend have you ever been discontent with sometone or something? Spirit of discontent and its sisters grumbling, greed, covetousness and envy can erode a christian internally, while  looking whole and holy outside. Praying as we read the Holy Spirit will guide us in this area.

*Contentment is NOT a sign of weakness contrary to a world that pushes us to do more and more. Contentment when mixed with Godliness is great gain as per the bible

*Contentment frees up the space in our hearts  to be still in His presence and listen to His voice- the voice that guides us in the best pathway for our lives. Being discontent constantly clogs our hearts with restlessness, comparison and haste.

*A content heart is filled with delight and gratitude thanking God for where it is, seeking Him for the next step. A discontent heart grumbles and takes steps that may not align with the will of God and may lead to regret.

*A content heart does not compare his/her marriage or children or relationships to others but waters the relationships and nourishes his/her own to cause them to flousih. Discontent heart causes strife and pain in the family.

*A content heart rests in the blessings of God who adds all things but for a discontent heart love of money subtly dominates and guides their actions.

*A content heart rejoices when someone achieves something . A discontent heart is sad and jealous and tries to do things without consulting God to get ahead in the world .

* To the content heart the world in Christ is a joyful place to enjoy and serve. To a discontent heart the world is a competetive place.

* Contentment is NOT  complacency.Compacency is lukewarmess, apathy and sense of giving up the passion for God, things of God and settling in a place that God wants you to move from. Contentment is actively being grateful, seeking the things of God daily in our lives, in our relationships, in our finances and following what He wants for us.

Let us pray

Abba we come before your throne room asking for grace to be content. Get into our hearts and break all the wrong thinking patterns we have allowed since our childhood that has caused us to dwell in discontent. Abba, open our eyes to see the blessings we will enjoy living with a content heart. Teach us step by step how to break the spirit of discontentment so that we will enjoy a full life filled with your joy and abundant blessings. Abba let being discontent not push us into things that we may regret in the years to come.

We love you Abba, you are the faithful ONE.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

Remain Blessed,

IN HIM,

Deepa Sukumar.
